March 5, 2008 - The Toronto Raptors have been patient, and since they have only been around since 1995, it's no wonder the team has yet to have a Championship title under their belts. But not to fear, they still have the drive and the fan support to bring Toronto a big win in the days to come, so keep your eyes on the prize guys!
Home Arenas
March 5, 2008 - The home arena of the Toronto Raptors is currently the Air Canada Centre, but the team has played in more places and still ventures to other arenas in the area.
From 1995-1999 the Raptors were going back and forth between the SkyDome and two other arenas; Maple Leaf Gardens and Copps Coliseum. During their time at the SkyDome, many conflicts in scheduling led to the team having to play at other venues, including the two aforementioned arenas.
Maple Leaf Gardens also played a half-way home for the Raptors, but closed in 2002. The team was out of the building in 1999. It was located on the northwest corner of Carlton Street and Church Street. This arena hosted such teams as the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Huskies, Toronto Toros, Toronto Shooting Stars, Toronto Rock, Toronto Marlboros and the Toronto Blizzard.
Copps Coliseum was a semi-home for the Toronto Raptors during the late 90's. This center is located at the corner of Bay Street North and York Boulevard in Hamilton, Ontario. It opened in 1985 and is still home to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL.
